Brisbane City Gymnastics Club
Designed to capture the excitement and fast pace of Ninja Warrior, FreeG is a British Gymnastics program, adopted by Gymnastics Australia for Australian clubs.
The program encourages participants to use traditional gymnastics equipment in new ways. It draws on influences from martial arts, free-running, parkour, tricking and breakdance.
The program introduces participants to key concepts and basic skills. Participants are given opportunities to demonstrate their ability to combine elements of effort, space and time when performing movement sequences with and without equipment. Within a FreeG class, it is not unusual for participants to find new and creative uses for traditional gymnastics apparatus, or to be combining different apparatus into a series of obstacles.
FreeG gets the body moving in ways never thought possible! It will get participant’s heart racing and develop a heightened sense of spatial awareness that can be put to good use in a variety of other sports (including. boarding, biking, skiing, climbing and surfing)
Participants LOVE the excitement of each and every class, while parents have the added peace of mind that their child learns tricks and flips within a safe environment taught by our expert coaches!
